PDXTREME HORROR

Image
New things are on the horizon for us. Northwest Haunt Fanatic is beginning it's own chapter in extreme immersive horror and we're calling it PDXTREME HORROR. There are no other horror simulations of this type in the Pacific Northwest, outside of shows that have traveled here for brief evenings or weekends such as BLK4M4SS' visit to Seattle and Blackout's appearance at Mount Hood. We intend to bring this style of "extreme haunt" to the Portland area in the form of small group and solo shows with limited runs throughout the year. This will not be a haunted house. This project is more inspired by our intense and transformative encounters with Heretic's relentless brutality, Cracked's intense survival horror situations ( Sam's Review , Nicci's Review ), and BLK4M4SS' psychological mastery with using the guest's mind to project themselves into the show ( Sam's Review , Nicci's Review ). We have been running monthly events

BLK4M4SS - PATHOLOGY review by Sam Berrett

Where do I even start...? BL4KM4SS' immersive show, Pathology, is an ongoing show, so I won't be giving away any spoilers. This has made it challenging to find my words, as I honestly just want to gush about it and give every detail of what I went through. It was that powerful. However, I respect others' experiences and of course BL4KM4SS' request to keep details to a bare minimum, so here it is, a couple weeks after the show. Word came around the immersive horror/haunt/theater community this year that BL4KM4SS, represented by their cryptic Instagram page and unique business cards , is not to be missed. Their first shows were in LA, and we couldn't make it. We did, however, have friends involved with Haunting and Hvrting that went and highly recommended it. When word came out that they were touring with a show called Pathology and wanted to know where people wanted them to come, we of course commented to them about coming to Portland, or at least the Pacifi

Bl4k M4ss: A review by Nicci Vicious

BL4K M4SS is the one of the newest names that is buzzing through the immersive scene. Shrouded in mystery, their social media presence only appears on Instagram (http://Instagram.com/bl4km4ss). August 9, 2019 they made an appearance in the Pacific Northwest, and I found myself making the 3.5 hour journey with Sam to Seattle, Washington to experience "Pathology." So, how do I review a show I can't really say much about? I can say my 1 hour with them was well worth the trip. I have found myself being able to get in touch with emotions I haven't been in touch with for awhile. I definitely encourage anyone who has a chance to experience a show to do so. This is a whole new level of immersive unlike the others. Thank you so much to BL4K M4SS for allowing me to have some time with you. It will not be a night I will soon forget.

CRACKED 5 by Sam Berrett

"SAM!!!" I hear Nicci screaming in a panic as she's being violently pulled away from the group sitting on the hard, dirty floor in a tight circle. I'm grabbing her shirt and pulling her back towards me as best as possible when Mathias (who we met last year at Cracked vs. Heretic) leans over to grab her shoe and helps me get her back to us as we read Blake's now familiar 2 page oration in unison, loudly, over and over. I would have helped her more, but I was in a headlock being pulled the other direction. Teamwork. A theme that would come up more than once during the 4+ hour event. If we were going to survive this whole show, it would be as a group. I was aware that some previous shows of Cracked had 10 people enter, 1 person being the winner. This year, there was no mention of this before the show, and as the scenes unfolded, it was clear that this would not be the case for year 5. Our goal was to endure. To finish. To become part of Blake's exclusiv

Cracked 5: A Recollection by Nicci Vicious

It has now been three days since Cracked 5. I have had time to recoup and process my thoughts.           As  mentioned  when we did Cracked vs Heretic last year, I have been following Cracked since they first started. As soon as it was announced, I made it a goal to make it to England to experience it. Last year in the aftermath of CR vs H, the announcement soon came of the next show in England and we immediately decided to go.  The weeks leading up to Cracked were a mix  of  excitement and “what am I getting myself into?”  Part of me knew what to expect, the other knew this would be a whole new ball game.  Dreams of Blake and the show were constant. I can definitely say I was extremely anxious leading to the event.     The day before the event we arrived to our hotel and settled in and had dinner with one of the people in our group, Elicia.  Needless to say, when our message with the details about the pickup point and our instructions on when to be there and what to e
